4.4 Homework

Homework is due on Tuesday 25 March.

I am looking forward to seeing your creative, artistic imaginative responses to the images of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane that we have seen in class.

I expect you to produce a painting or drawing of Jesus in the Garden, but if you feel moved to produce a poem or piece of music, those will be great as well. Be creative!

The Passion

I just found this website for the new BBC drama for Holy Week, The Passion. I would highly recommend watching this, especially since it fits in so well with what we are studying at the moment!

I would love to hear your comments and thoughts on the website and the programme.

4.3 Homework

Homework due on Monday 17 March.

In class, you will have begun a newspaper article about the events of Palm Sunday. This should be completed for next Monday. You can type the article up if you want, and you may wish to include a picture. (Click here to remind yourself of what happened!)

Remember – the first paragraph of a newspaper article should always contain: What, Who, When and Where, so that if the editor needs to cut out paragraphs because something more exciting has happened, none of the key points will be lost.

A good article will also include at least one eye witness account.

4.2 Homework

Homework due on Monday 10 March.

Write a diary for Holy Week. You have a sheet that you can fill in. Here are some helpful hints (don’t just copy!):

Palm Sunday: Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the foal of a donkey … What happened? What did the crowd say and do?
Monday: Jesus turned over the moneychanger’s tables in the temple … What did he say?
Tuesday: Jesus taught the people …
Wednesday: Jesus was anointed at Bethany … By whom? What did Judas say? What did Judas do next?
Maundy Thursday: the Last Supper and all the happened before and after that …arrest, trials …

I look forward to reading your diaries. They can be short (if you fill in the sheet, there is a small space for each day), but you can make them longer and type or write them out if you want. You could also complete your homework on here, by adding a comment and writing about each day in the comment box!
