Black History Month

In order to celebrate Black History Month, the RE Department is running a competition open to all Year 8s.

The deadline is Monday 13 October.

The prize is a gift voucher, and the opportunity to present your findings to the PTA.

The task?

Research the life of a significant black Christian. Present your findings in an interesting and original way.

You could:
* make a powerpoint presentation,
* write a speech,
* create an animation,
* create a podcast,
* make a poster,
* write a poem …
* … or something else! The choice is yours!

Whose life could you study? Well, the choice is yours, but here are a few suggestions:
* Archbishop Desmond Tutu
* Martin Luther King
* Cardinal Arinze
* Archbishop John Sentamu
* Mary Seacole
* St Josephine Bakhita
* St Martin de Porres
* Jesse Owens
* Pops Mensah-Bonsu
* Tony Jarrett

Do you recognise a few names connected to our school in that list? You could also research the life of Solomon Mahlangu, after whom our twin school in South Africa, Solomon Mahlangu Freedom College, is named.

We look forward to seeing and hearing your presentations!
